"At first, I actually wanted to become a graphic designer and completed the preparatory design course. But somehow, I always felt that something would be missing for me as a graphic designer. That's why I did some research and found the 'Interactive Media Designer' apprenticeship. After a trial apprenticeship, I quickly knew that this would be the right path for me.
So, I put together my portfolio, wrote a motivational letter, and applied to various companies. Fortunately, I also received other offers, but I found the environment at Deep Impact to be the coolest. I immediately felt that they were working on the future here. Just seeing Spiderman directly when you walk in immediately made me feel at ease.
That was the right decision! My start at Deep Impact was great. I had expected to have more guidelines and was surprised by how much freedom I was given. I'm happy that I can take on responsibility here. I like the practical aspect and seeing how my work contributes to the projects. That's why I prefer being in the office to being at school. But I manage to balance school and work well – and I still have enough free time besides that.
What I like about Deep Impact is the variety – I've made several videos, banners, and animations so far, and right now I'm working on a landing page. For that, I got to design the wireframe, and afterwards, I'll also implement the page. Of my projects, the video for Lingo was the most fun so far. In general, I've already produced a few videos and learned a lot, for example, about handling sound and lighting.
My goal is to eventually start my own video production company. But for that, I still need to gain more experience."
