At Deep Impact, co-creation is at the heart of what we do. Our experience shows that teams particularly value it when we not only lead the process but also actively participate in the creation of ideas, products, and services. Our strength lies in fully immersing ourselves in the situation and feeling responsible for achieving the best possible solution. This passion distinguishes us from purely internal sprints or moderated processes and is a crucial factor for our success.

Innovative Roles: Introducing the Challenger

In addition to the traditional roles of Facilitator and Decider, we have introduced the role of the Challenger. This person brings deep knowledge in digital transformation, is not afraid to polarize with strong opinions, and helps the team focus on the essentials and reduce complexity. The Challenger plays a key role by challenging the team to find simpler and more targeted solutions.

Design Sprint Versions: An Overview

The development of Design Sprints has produced various iterations:

• Design Sprint 1.0: The original 5-day format from Google Ventures.
• Design Sprint 2.0: A 4-day adaptation by AJ & Smart, which compresses the first three days.
• Design Sprint 3.0: Another 4-day adaptation that allows more time for analysis on the first day.

Deep Impact customizes the Design Sprint for each new challenge, with our sprints varying between 2 and 4 days. We prefer the 4-day format, as it allows the team to reflect on the evening of the first day and work more effectively on solution sketches the next day.

Success Stories: The Construction Site Planner for Holcim

One of our highlight projects is the construction site planner for Holcim. The kick-off was a Design Sprint in October 2018, and the pilot went live in February 2019. This work was crowned with a Best of Swiss Web Award in the "Business" category in April 2019.
